MDBC / EUMCCI: VIP Lunch With Minister of Transport
March 21 @ 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Dear MDBC members,
Malaysia aspires to be a country where business excellence is unmatched. In the case of industrial transformation, logistics is the critical backbone. Malaysia is set to observe a compound annual growth rate in terms of freight volume, doubling towards 2020 (as compared to the past five years). This is followed by an increase in e – commerce, convenience stores, and other nano – stores, which will result in more cargo flows to the city. The country also envisions playing an important role in logistics for e – commerce through its e – commerce hub in KLIA. Transportation to, and within the city, will therefore need to be better organised to avoid a so – called traffic infarct. Competition is stiff with various competing new port developments in Singapore and Indonesia that are challenging Malaysia’s position as a transshipment hub.
Join us for the next “In Conversation With” series taking place on Thursday, 21 March with the Minister of Transport, Y.B. Anthony Loke Siew Fook, as he provides participants with insights into what can be done to further develop Malaysia into the preferred logistics gateway to Asia amid these considerations.
Take a close look at the vision of Malaysia’s transportation and logistics strategy. Learn how the new government plans to prioritize these sectors, devising key strategies and approaches to further improve conditions for logistics stakeholders.
