MDBC / MABC: Interchamber Networking & Talk
July 26 @ 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Dear MDBC members,
Please note that maximum capacity has been reached. As such we can no longer accept registrations for this event. Thank you for your interest and understanding.
Join us at the Interchamber Networking evening with our colleagues from MABC on Thursday, 26 July at the Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel. Research has shown that in the last 14 years, the growth of e commerce companies has skyrocketed across the board. Some merchandise lines (like clothing and beauty products in particular) have achieved a remarkable 25% average CGR. Growth projections estimate that by 2022, e commerce retail revenues may exceed $4 trillion. Learn about the opportunities and challenges involved, and determine how to best participate. We are also happy to announce the panelists from 6 companies (Booking.com; AUSTRADE; SNT Global; GoBear; IT Comp; and Axle & Olio Solutions) active in e Commerce who will share their experiences and debate the issues currently found in the sector. Please see the list below for more details.
The e – commerce industry in Malaysia has slowly begun to take shape, with over US $1.4 billion worth of transaction value, and an average Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 17.9% YOY (among the better ones in the region, yet slightly lower than Vietnam at 28%). Advent of the digital free trade zone has provided an interesting boost, while also raising pertinent questions.
A large marketplace of consumers awaits, while a complex ecosystem hasn’t necessarily delivered on the promise of rigorous adoption. Join us at this Interchamber Networking with our colleagues from the Malaysian Australian Business Chamber (MABC) to listen to the experts in the industry, learn about the intricacies involved, explore opportunities, understand challenges, and determine how to best participate.
