NL Embassy: Malaysia as a Maritime Nation

November 3, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 4:45 pm

The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, together with the Malaysia Institute of Defence and Security (MiDAS), and with support from the Ministry of Defence and The Netherlands Industries for Defence and Security (NIDV), is organizing a webinar titled: “Malaysia as a Maritime Nation: Prospects and Way Forward”.

The first ever Malaysian Defence White Paper (DWP) is a document that provides clarity on Malaysia’s strategic concerns and defence policy for the next 10 years.  As the primary strategic document of the Malaysian government, it lays out the foundations for future actions to guide Malaysian defence planning.  Doing so presents an unprecedented opportunity for both Malaysia and the Netherlands to enhance defence and industrial ties.

What sort of opportunities and milestones should we expect?
What challenges will Malaysia and the Netherlands expect in the course of implementation?
