The Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) have successfully participated in the multinational military exercise, Cobra Gold 2025, which concluded today at the Phu Lum Yai Training Area in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. The closing ceremony and the Combined Arms Live Fire Exercise (CALFEX) demonstration were attended by the Joint Force Commander, Lieutenant General Dato’ Zahani bin Hj Zainal Abidin, accompanied by the Commander of the 10th Parachute Brigade, Brigadier General Khairul Anwar bin Soib.
This year’s Cobra Gold, which commenced on February 3, brought together over 8,000 military personnel from nearly 30 nations, including Malaysia. Recognized as the largest multinational military exercise in the Asia-Pacific region, Cobra Gold is an annual joint training event co-hosted by the Royal Thai Armed Forces (RTARF) and the United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM).
The primary objective of the exercise is to strengthen military cooperation among participating nations, enhance ATM’s operational capabilities in multinational missions, and facilitate knowledge exchange at both operational and tactical levels. The training also aims to improve interoperability between allied forces, preparing them for real-world contingencies.
