The Netherlands has awarded Italian manufacturer Iveco Defence Vehicles a contract to supply 785 military logistic trucks and related support.

Under the deal, the Dutch military will receive 8×8 and 6×4 trucks in three configurations: Semitrailer Tractor, Recovery, and Hook – lift, which will be equipped with either protected or unprotected cabs.

Although the total amount of the deal has not been publicly disclosed, it includes an option for 785 more vehicles and integrated logistic support for at least 15 years.

These are expected for delivery between 2027 and 2029.

“With over 90 years of experience, we are committed to continue our effort in guaranteeing the highest standards of survivability, performance, reliability and safety to fulfill the diverse needs of the Dutch Armed Forces,” said company CEO Claudio Catalano.

In April 2022, Amsterdam ordered more than a thousand Manticore medium tactical vehicles in several configurations from Iveco to replace the Dutch armed forces’ off – road vehicles.

Apart from modernizing the armed forces, these Iveco trucks ensure that the Netherlands shares logistical commonality with other EU member states such as Italy to reinforce regional security.
