Oshkosh Defense Europe B.V. and Oshkosh Defense have announced that the Netherlands has ordered additional Dutch Expeditionary Patrol Vehicles (DXPV), also known as “Kaaiman.”
The deal is valued between $25 million and $30 million.
Featuring an open systems design, the DXPV allows the integration of emerging technologies and mission systems, providing flexibility across a range of operations.
The purchase also includes two DXPV training kits, allowing Dutch soldiers to begin training and supporting a smooth transition to full operational use.
Oshkosh said the order reflects the Netherlands’ continued push to modernize its defense vehicles, following a previous contract for 150 DXPVs under the Future Littoral All – Terrain Mobility – Patrol Vehicle program.
Land Systems Orders
In recent months, Amsterdam has increased its investment in land systems, including joint purchases in collaboration with European partners, aiming to cut costs and strengthen interoperability.
Last month, the Dutch Ministry of Defence announced the purchase of CV90 infantry fighting vehicles.
The acquisition is part of a joint program with Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden.
In October 2025, Germany and the Netherlands signed a 4.5-billion-euro ($5.25 billion) contract through the Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation.
The deal, with a joint venture between Rheinmetall and KNDS Deutschland, covers 270 Boxer armored vehicles, of which 198 will go to the German Armed Forces and 72 to the Dutch military.
Earlier last year, the Netherlands signed a contract with Italian manufacturer Iveco Defence Vehicles to provide 785 military logistics trucks and associated support, with deliveries scheduled between 2027 and 2029.
