MDBC Edu 360: Intro to Lean Improvements

May 25, 2023 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Please note: Due to a low response, this event has been postponed

Dear MDBC members,

The lean methodology framework focuses on maximizing profits by reducing waste and understanding the maximum amount customers can justify paying for a product or service. By focusing only on what provides value to customers, businesses can improve the overall quality of their products. Lean problem – solving (an essential component of the Lean methodology) is a method used to identify and eliminate waste, inefficiencies, and non – value – added activities in business processes.

Although the Lean management system began in manufacturing, it is widely used today for process improvement across the globe in every sector including logistics and distribution, services, retail, healthcare, construction, maintenance, software development, higher education, and product development.

Kaizen, a Japanese word meaning continuous improvement that embodies a philosophy emphasizing the importance of incremental changes over time to improve business processes, is often associated with “The Kaizen Approach”; This involves identifying and eliminating waste in all forms and focuses on involving all employees in the improvement process.
