NHIndustries has been awarded a support contract for the NH90 helicopters of Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.
The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) awarded the five-year contract on behalf of the NATO Helicopter Management Agency (NAHEMA).
To secure the support capabilities, the two agencies will deliver an automated and integrated supply chain throughout the contract.
This fifth logistics contract is a continuation of a framework established in 2004.
“This contract confirms NSPA’s commitment to the NH90 program and its operational effectiveness,” NSPA General Manager Stacy Cummings said.
“Our mission is to provide efficient, effective and responsive solutions to our customers and this framework will enable and facilitate Nations’ requirements for spare parts and sustainment.”
NH90 Helicopter
The twin-engine, medium-sized, multi-role helicopter comes in two variants: the NH90 NFH (NATO Frigate Helicopter) for naval operations and the TTH (Tactical Transport Helicopter) for land-based operations.
More than 500 NH90s have been delivered globally since its introduction in 2007.
Meanwhile, the aircraft is undergoing a 600-million-euro ($678 million) upgrade, which is intended to add up to 15 years to the platform’s service life.
The upgrade includes a communication suite, integration of Data Link 22, and the latest identification friend or foe Mod 5 Level 2.
This covers the NH90s of the militaries of Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, and Italy.
