The Netherlands has signed a long – term framework agreement with Saab to supply Barracuda Mobile Camouflage Systems (MCS) for Dutch Armed Forces vehicles.

Under the agreement, the defense ministry has placed an initial order, with deliveries scheduled over the coming years.

The order covers the Royal Netherlands Army’s existing Fennek and Panzerhaubitze 2000NL vehicles, with options to equip additional vehicle types in the future.

Earlier, the Dutch Ministry of Defence said the agreement would cover hundreds of mobile camouflage systems under a 10 – year arrangement.

“We are proud to support the Royal Netherlands Army with our advanced multispectral camouflage solutions, helping to protect its vehicle fleet from detection across the modern sensor spectrum, strengthening survivability and mobility on the battlefield,” Head of Business Unit Saab Barracuda, Henning Robach, said.

Barracuda Mobile Camouflage
Saab’s Barracuda MCS is a vehicle – mounted camouflage solution designed to reduce the visual, infrared, and electromagnetic signatures of military platforms.

Tailored to individual vehicles and available in woodland, urban, and arctic patterns, the system makes platforms harder for hostile sensors to detect and improves battlefield survivability.

Its heat – reduction properties can also lower vehicle temperatures, helping extend the endurance of personnel and onboard electronics.
